Make Planning Fun!
If you are reading this, then you’re probably planning a wedding.
Congratulations. Wedding planning is fun and special. My fiancé and
I were engaged in August of 2009 and will be married in October of
2010. We’ve been planning our wedding for several months. At the
start, we were amazed to discover that the wedding industry is
enormous. The options seem endless. Here are some key things we’ve
learned to make the process enjoyable:
1. Start planning early. We heard this bit of advice a lot and it is
definitely worth repeating.
2. Budget. Don’t forget to budget for additional costs like tax,
gratuity, and delivery because they make a huge difference.
3. DIY. Be careful of “do it yourself” projects. Although some DIY
projects are wonderful, some can end up being more costly and of
poorer quality than if purchased from a professional. There’s value
in leaving things to the experts.
4. Reviews. Use reviews to help weed through the sea of options.
Find reviews on the internet and ask vendors to put you in contact
with their previous customers for testimonials. Friends and family
are good resources too. When it comes to reviews, always consider the
source. Reviews help to ensure that the vendors you chose will
deliver the service that you’re expecting on your wedding day.
We hope this information is helpful. Happy planning. Have fun.
