1. What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photo-journalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?
From a photography perspective, my team and I believe that a blend of traditional wedding photography, photojournalism, and editorial photography work best to tell the story of the couple's special day. Since each of our clients are unique, this approach is custom tailored to each client; for instance, some may lean more towards photojournalism whereas others are more open to editorial and less traditional coverage.
2. Do you do videography?
I have videographers on my team as well; similar to the photography, I would pair the videographer(s) with the couple depending on their desired capture style (documentary or cinematic).
3. Do you shoot in a digital format that can create both color and b/w versions of the same picture?
My photographers and I all record RAW file mages native to the cameras used; unlike a JPEG, this is digital still photography's version of the negative. Our B&W conversions are fine art B&W conversions and are not the usual desideration process that most other photographers and studios use.
4. What kind of input can they have on the direction of the shots? Can they give you a shot list to work from?
We understand that each couple has their own level of comfort with photographic direction and I try to determine which of my team would be the best fit for them. Some couples ask for quite a bit of direction whereas others can create their own shots. I would happy to work with the couple to establish a suggested shot list that would work best for them. Again, this goes back to our custom tailored approach to the wedding photography experience.
5. Can they buy the negatives from you? Or do they get a CD?
We don't believe in holding images hostage. Each of our couples receives their final images on disc along with personal reproduction rights.
6. Could you briefly describe what makes your photos unique?
Ultimately, we strive to foster the relationship between the photographer and the client. This lends itself to creating a comfort level with the couple and being able to capture more natural-looking and relaxed photos. Unlike most photographers and studios, where the couple meets with the photographer only once, on arguably, the most important day of their lives, we strive to create relationships. The best example of this is when I get calls from couples to take photos of their first child or to photograph their siblings' wedding. Examples of our photography style and artistry can all be seen on the website and sample albums and galleries. It's the relationships that are formed that help tell the story.
