What is The Yoga Magic Studio and what does it offer?

Answer: We offer the finest classes and services with the depth and creativity that makes your yoga practice a source of satisfaction, strength and stress relief. The Yoga Magic Studio offers all levels of Yoga taught by Jennifer Edwards. The Yoga Magic Studio teaches a form of yoga based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar. Iyengar Yoga is an inspired and innovative approach to the classical Eastern discipline. It is particularly relevant to our Western culture as the basic principles of movement, which it advocates, are compatible with current developments in the field of physical therapy, kinesiology and other modern bodywork disciplines. B.K.S. Iyengar developed Iyengar Yoga.

How did The Yoga Magic Studio get started? Why did you want to start it?

 

Answer: Jennifer created her studio to teach others how to focus on the essentials of yoga, guiding students to strengthen their bodies, restore their energy, clear their minds, utilize the breath, and experience firsthand the many life-enhancing benefits of yoga. The Magic Yoga Studio helps people become aware of their incredible potential for happiness, knowledge, joy, and inner peace that we all naturally carry within ourselves.

 

What was your vision behind it, what did you want to create?

Answer: Many people search for the elusive “sense of balance” in their lives, which can help them feel as though all aspects of life are conducted in an equitable way. There are whole sections of bookstores full of books recommending how to achieve this balance, and people might look at websites or attend lectures given by motivational speakers to find out how to live a more balanced life. One of the key factors of achieving this sense of balance is Yoga. The yoga I teach brings people closer to a sense of balance in their life. It enables you to connect your mind, body, and soul together as one.

 

Why would someone want to go to The Yoga Magic Studio?

Answer: The key to health and happiness is a mind that is peaceful and positive. Life has so many distractions and by being able to teach our mind, body and spirit to connect as one helps us achieve joy and happiness. At The Yoga Magic Studio, we teach you how to connect your mind body and soul as one using Iyengar Yoga. Iyengar Yoga is meditation in action. In the Iyengar system, special focus is placed on developing correct body alignment, stamina, strength, and flexibility. Standing poses build strong legs, increase general vitality, and improve balance and coordination. Teachers trained in anatomy and physiology individualizes poses to each person’s physical needs. The Yoga Magic Studio helps you break away from the daily stresses of life. Using our teaching at the Yoga Magic Studio, you come to a realization that you do not have to be in control. People come to us when they are seeking some balance in their life.



How do you ensure high quality for your lessons? 

Answer: Jennifer is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor who approaches teaching with precision, reverence, assurance, humor, and personal joy. She is known for her clear instructions and logical sequencing of poses. Jennifer has been teaching in the Los Angeles area since 2000, but she has been a dedicated student of yoga since soon after the birth of her first daughter 18 years ago. Jennifer has taught yoga to students of many backgrounds and life stages, from ages 3 to 83. She always challenges students while encouraging them towards greater balance and serenity in their lives. She has studied in India with B.KS. Iyengar and attended all National Iyengar Yoga Conventions in the past ten years. Jennifer completed the intensive three-year Teacher Training Program at the L.A. Iyengar Yoga Institute (IYILA) in 2002 and regularly attends continuing education workshops at IYILA and at Yoga Works. She also has served as Vice President of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern California.

 

What would be the average years of experience of teachers?

Answer: I have 17 years of teaching experience.

Answer: There are no specific age groups or levels of Iyengar Yoga, which we cater.
